Al Warqaa is a rapidly developing area. With newly built residential properties, including villas and apartments, Al Warqaa is positioned as an affordable area for renting and buying property. It is home to a number of prominent schools, the Warqa mall, restaurants and a range of other amenities, making it a full-fledged residential suburb.

Named after the popular dove-like bird ("warqaa" in Arabic), Al-Warqaa, the main community is divided into five subdistricts, numbered 1 to 5. Al-Warqaa subgroups 1, 2, 3 and 4 are mostly residential, and Al Warqaa 5 consists of various elements that make up the Dubai Safari Park. Dubai Safari, built at Al Warqa 5 on Aweer Road on an area of 400 hectares, includes a safari park, a butterfly park, golf courses, entertainment and recreational areas. The Dubai safari replaces the ailing Dubai Zoo. 2500 animals of about 250 species were relocated to the new place.
