Dubai Metro Blue Line breaks ground — AED 20.5bn line to reshape eastern districts

By the offplans.com Research Desk · Dubai

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid inaugurated tunneling work on the Dubai Metro Blue Line in May 2026. Valued at AED 20.5 billion, the 30km line adds 14 stations (9 elevated, 5 underground) and is planned to open on 9 September 2029, according to Driven Properties and market analysts.

Why it matters

The line serves fast-growing eastern districts including Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Silicon Oasis, which analysts expect to see outsized gains as connectivity improves. Property within roughly 500m of stations has already been cited as appreciating 22–30% in 2026.
