Ras Al Khor, located on the edge of Dubai Creek, is considered a place where city and nature merge together, because the territory consists of 3 industrial areas and a Wildlife Sanctuary. Ras Al Khor Flamingo Sanctuary Covers an area of approximately 6.2 sq. km. About 250 species of plants and 50 species of animals (from the endangered category) are collected here. Ras Al Khor is an abundance of fish, crustaceans, and birds. This is one of the most important bird habitats on the planet, whose status is secured by the World Conservation Organization. Ras Al Khor is especially proud of its large population of pink flamingos, numbering 500 individuals. Two international schools, grand green open spaces, an 18-hole golf course and many dining options are nearby. The Ras Al Khor Road with two interchanges provide access to the west and east of Dubai. A new metro line is also planned, providing access to Business Bay within 10 minutes.
